There is a rich history of Freestyle Frisbee in Toronto. Ken Westerfield and Jim Kenner honed their amazing pre-delay freestyle and disc golf skills at Queens Park in the early seventies.
They performed many street shows at Younge and Dundas during this time. This exposure caught the interest of Irwin Toys and lead to an across Canada west coast tour to Vancouver.
Ken and Jim created the first Canadian Open overall Frisbee competition in 1972 at the Canadian National Exhibition. The Canadian Open moved to the Iconic Toronto Islands in 1974. The first “Freestyle Event”.
